Salary Calculator — convert hourly, weekly, monthly and yearly pay

This salary calculator converts a wage between hourly, weekly, monthly and annual amounts. Enter one figure, choose its period, and set your hours per week and weeks per year to see all the others.

How the conversion works

Everything is based on your annual income. Annual pay divided by the hours you work per year gives the hourly rate; divided by 12 gives the monthly figure. Change the hours or weeks to match part-time or seasonal work.

Gross vs net

These are gross figures, before income tax and social contributions. Take-home (net) pay depends on your country, allowances and deductions, so treat the result as your pre-tax salary.

Hourly, monthly and annual — how they relate

Annual pay is the anchor. Divide it by 12 for a month, by 52 for a week, or by your yearly hours for an hourly rate. Because months are not all the same length, the monthly figure is an average, not the amount of any single paycheck.

Overtime and part-time

For part-time work, lower the hours per week so every figure reflects your real schedule. Overtime paid at a higher rate is not included automatically — add those hours separately if you want to see their effect.

Example

At $25 an hour, 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year, that is $1,000 a week, about $4,333 a month and $52,000 a year — all before tax.

Hourly to annual — quick reference

Based on a full-time 40-hour week over 52 weeks (2,080 hours a year), these are the gross equivalents. The monthly figure is the annual divided by twelve:

Full-time gross pay (40h × 52 weeks)
HourlyAnnualMonthly (avg)
$15$31,200$2,600
$18$37,440$3,120
$20$41,600$3,467
$25$52,000$4,333
$30$62,400$5,200
$40$83,200$6,933
$50$104,000$8,667

Gross, before tax and contributions. Change the hours per week or weeks per year in the calculator for part-time or seasonal work.

How the conversion works

Everything is anchored to annual pay. Hours per year are your hours per week times weeks per year; the hourly rate is annual pay divided by that, and the monthly figure is annual pay divided by twelve. Because months differ in length, the monthly amount is an average rather than any single payslip. All figures are gross, before tax and contributions.

Freelance and day rates

If you work freelance, convert a day rate the same way: multiply by the billable days you expect in a year, then subtract the time you cannot bill — holidays, admin and gaps between clients — to land on a realistic annual figure rather than an optimistic one.

This is a general estimate for information only, not financial advice. Results use standard formulas and do not include every fee, tax or future rate change — confirm the figures with your lender, bank or a qualified adviser before making a decision.

FAQ

How do I convert hourly pay to annual salary?

Multiply the hourly rate by hours per week and weeks per year. $20 × 40 × 52 = $41,600 a year.

Are these figures gross or net?

Gross — before tax and deductions. Your take-home (net) pay depends on your country and personal situation.

How do I adjust for part-time work?

Change the hours per week and weeks per year to match your actual schedule, and every figure updates.
